Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Science Club?
The Science Club is for students in 7th and 8th grade.
This year's theme is "Biodiversity Basics" and we will be exploring the diversity of the ecosystems in our community.
Unlike the past years, we will NOT have just one monthly events or activities. Instead we will be offering after school labs/lessons, projects, and special activities to earn points.
Every activity or project you complete will earn you points towards the field trip in May. NOTE: Field trip qualification will depend on the # of points you have instead of the # of events you attended!
How many events will we have? When will they be held?
Unlike the past years, we will NOT have just six or seven event, but rather 12-15 meetings and/or activities.
Members will need to earn at least 75% of the total points available by participating in lessons, projects, and/or activities to be invited to the field trip to Wildlife Prairie Park in May.
Information about each meeting/activity will be e-mailed to all Science Club members as well as listed on the school's calendar available at the HJHS website at http://havanajh.weebly.com/.
NOTE: If you are involved in sports, it is your responsibility to make arrangements with your coach to attend the Science Club meetings and activities.
