What will we be studying this year? During this school year we will be exploring topics in life science, chemistry, and earth science.
NOTE: Two years ago we implemented a 2-year science program for all 7th & 8th grade students. Regardless of grade level, all 7th & 8th graders will be studying the same topics in science class. Next year we will explore ecology, physics, genetics, and forensic science.
How will you be presenting lessons? All my lessons will be available on Google Classroom for all students - remote learning and those in the classroom. Instruction will be provided using electronic textbooks, online videos (EDPuzzle), and/or videos created by me. Students will use Google Classroom apps as well as Quia, Quizlet, and other learning programs to reinforce learning or share their knowledge. I will also be available through Google Meet for classroom instruction or 1-to-1 meetings if a student needs help.
Will we have STEAM this year? We will be continuing our 9th hour STEAM class this year for students attending in-person. Some units will be available for remote learning students as materials and other resources are available. This class will include units on keyboarding, science investigations, engineering projects, and much more. Each project connects two or more STEAM areas and will help students explore options for future careers!
